The last weekend of april was the weekend of the Dutch superbikes round. The legendary track of Assen! I was working for the Pata Honda team and I was so excited! For me, this was the first race of the season and I hope many will follow :)

Over the last couple of weeks I've been working very hard to give my portfolio a boost. Here is a little bit of the result of that boost ;)

So, as promised, here is the first bunch of pictures from Cape Town. I worked with a Ducth team that I know from back home, namely photographer Richard Monsieurs and make up artist Juliette den Ouden. I'm really pleased with the results, I think they are a big improvement for my book :-)

As many of you know, I've spend the first three months of 2013 in Cape Town to work on my book and international career. What a time it was! I did TV commercials, photoshoots and some other things, among other for Coors Lite, Nokia and Listerine. I was also able to do some awesome testshoots with amazing photographers from around the world. The results are now slowly arriving in my mailbox. As soon as I got all of them, I will show them to you.

I'm back now for about 2,5 weeks, but I've been incredibly busy since, both in my private and professional life. I already made my next trip, 4 days to Switzerland, moved into a new place, went to a few castings, did a couple of photoshoots and some hostess jobs.

It's good to be back, but I'm already looking forward to my next journey!

YES! We had to wait a while for it, but finally, the nominations of the Dutch Coifure Awards 2013 are announced. And guess what? My picture is one of them!

I saw the picture before, but now that the nominations are announced, I'm finally allowed to share it with you as well. Here it is! It's part of a serie of 4 pictures, all in this style.

So the credits for this picture...

Today is the last day of 2012 and I feel like saying something about it. It's been a true rollercoaster, both on a personal level and at work level. But let's focus on work in this blog! The year really started for me in March, when Sandra Oltra of Pasarella Image Agency in Spain posted a facebookmessage, asking for gridgirls to work in Monza, Italy, for the WTCC. The weekend kind of set the tone for the rest of the year. Because of work, I've spend days in Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Morocco. All the travelling was absolutely amazing! I feel so blessed that I got the chance to do all that.

Most of these trips were for the WTCC, WSR and WSBK. Every single weekend was a new adventure, being busy with my passion: cars and bikes. Later this year, basically from the end of summer, I started working fulltime as a model, hostess and gridgirl. I was a little nervous, but right from the start it worked out very well and it only got better over time. I worked as a hostess at awesome events and did some really cool photoshoots, commercials and runway shows. I couldn't wish for a better start as a fulltime worker.

The best thing for me about my work is, besides the traveling, meeting all those people. That's why I'd like to thank some of them. I'll stick to the people I met this year via my job, obviously there are more people... Where to start? Ok, let's start with a BIG thank you to Sandra & Francis from Pasarella. I owe so much to them. For example, meeting so many great girls, especially Masha & Elodie. Girls, even though you don't live around the corner, I'm so happy I got to know you! It's so great that we got to know each other abroad and we live 1500 km away, but we're still in touch. That's how you know it's true friendship! To the guys that I met at those same events that made me in one way or another smile, giggle or just laugh out loud, thanks for that, you gave those legendary weekends a golden touch.

Then I'd like to thank Ellen from L-Group, and all the girls I worked with for this agency. I feel like we're becoming a great team and I'm sure we'll be having even more fun next year. And girls, let's plan that dinner soon!

Also a big thank you to the House of Kent ladies, both the bookers and the hostesses. I loved working for and with you this year and I'm looking so much forward to next year!

Of course a big thanks to Eefje & Ellen from Eefje van Daal agency. Because of these two, I'll be travelling to Cape Town in exactly 7 days! And they introduced me to photographer Richard Monsieurs, who shot my favorite picture this year, so a big thank you to him as well :-)

Then 4 more people I got to know via work at different jobs that in one way or another made 2012 extra special for me.

Shauli, thank you for everything. Perhaps you don't even realize it, but getting to know you made a big difference in my life.

Borja, simply thank you for coming into my life. You made me believe everything is possible.

Valerio, thank you so much for being there for me. You really are a true friend.

Jane, girl, what to say? We only met late this year, but we had already more fun together than I had with many people in a whole year! Here's to more phonecalls, apps, nights out, city trips and legendary stories!

In general, thanks to everyone that supported me and encouraged me with everything I did. It's great to know that people are sincerly happy for me.

Writing this makes me feel really good. Just look how many amazing people I've met, just because of work! That's not even including all the people I met in my private life. It makes me feel blessed. I deeply thank all of you...

So, what's next? You never know what the future brings, but at least I'm pretty sure that in exactly one week I'll be flying of to Cape Town to work there for 3 months. It will be such an amazing journey! What else? I don't know, the future is wide open. Hopefully many race weekends, great photoshoots, cool commercials, awesome events... But above all, I hope the thank-you list next year will be even longer.

I wish all of you an amazing, spectacular, fabulous 2013, with health, luck, joy and awesome opportunities!

Be safe & have fun tonight :-)

Lots of love for the last time this year,

Thalassa :-)

In less than a month I will be traveling to Cape Town, so I'm starting to slow down a bit on taking on jobs. However, as you might know by now, I can't sit still for a day, so I simply cannot take a complete break. Here are some pictures of last week!

Whoooohooooo! Great jobs give so much energy! Yesterday I was shooting for the Dutch Coiffure Award. For the second time I worked with Richard Monsieurs. I received so many compliments on our previous result, so I was looking forward to work with him again. Besides being a great photographer, he's really fun and easy going to work with. I was also looking forward to work with make up artist Juliette den Ouden. I saw lots of her work already on facebook and she's gooood! So I was happy to finally meet her. The hairstylist I was working for was Joyce van Esch, already a two-time winner of the consumer award. She as well turned out to be a pleasure to work for.

The shoot took place at the salon of Create Hair+Beauty in Geldrop. It was a very long day, but I'm so glad I was there. All the models, the stylists... It was a big team, all working collaborating to get the very best results.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to show the picture until the nominations are announced, but I did see the preview. It's so cool! Totally different than what i have so far in my portfolio, so I can't hardly wait to show it... Patience, patience...

Little news from me over the last couple of weeks, but that doesn't mean I wasn't doing anything. In fact, you didn't hear from me because I simply didn't have the time to update my blog.

This time it were mainly hostess jobs, all very different in nature. Some highlights: for House of Kent hosting a Venetian dinner at Bouwend Nederland and the 'pre prologue' of the Paris - Dakar rally for Logistic Force. In fact, the job for Logistic Force worked out so well, that at the end of the day they asked me to work for them again the next week, which turned out to be another fun job.

But there was more... Subway, Rotterdam Central Station, Heineken party, Royal Club and many more, all fun and surrounded by great people.

Next week will not be about hosting, but all about photoshoots, starting tomorrow. Looking forward to it!
